2016 has been a huge year for the Honda Civic. Just last month, Honda finally launched the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback in the United States, a moment Civic enthusiasts have been waiting for for years. Now, Honda has done it again, debuting the next-generation Civic Type R Prototype at the 2016 Paris Motor Show last week. This prototype offers a look into the design and style of the Civic Type R, which offers track-ready performance along with a sleek and sporty hatchback design and will officially be revealed next year.

“We promised the most ambitious, sportiest Civic lineup ever and we’re delivering on that promise with each new Civic,” said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda Division of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “For the first time ever in America, Honda fans and enthusiasts will have access to the ultimate in Civic performance in the form of the new Type R.”

Based on the Civic Type R Prototype, some of the notable features we can expect from the model include a muscular body, a unique brush aluminum finished exterior, aggressive front fascia accented with a sporty red line. Like all other Type R models, the Civic Type R also includes Honda’s iconic red “H” badge. This vehicle will be making its debut in Las Vegas this November at the 2016 SEMA Show, so check back on our blog for more updates!
